The gospel is being preached to the poor

They had their Easter meeting today at teen MOPS in Kampala.  They invited 15 kids from the street to join them for the party.  They heard the story of the cross.  For some of the moms and the kids, it was the first time they heard about Jesus dying on a cross for them, and rising again with the power to change things. Just imagine how powerful a message this is when you need change!  That God loves them so much he would die for them.  That death had no power to keep him in the grave. That this same power can change them and save them.    And they all would like to see the Jesus movie.  They can get the DVD in their language, but they do not have a TV or DVD player.

They also had their monthly feast.  The 15 street kids were very hungry.  Unfortunately, food prices have risen this year.  And there was not as much food as before.  Higher food prices are hard for most of us, but a real tragedy to the very poor.

Paullah has shown the soap to a very big and nice hotel in Kampala.  The hotel says they love the soap.  There is nothing like it.  But now they are considering placing an order.  A regular contract with a large hotel could really boost our soap business.  Something like this could provide the funds we need to send our 10 waiting women to hairdressing school.  Please pray with us, that our soap workshop gets a good contract to make large orders of soap.  The needs are great, but we have reason to hope.
“So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.” Luke 7:22
