SINA, MOPS Europe, our missions trip and our water prodject

Emmanuel, Sylvia's husband is at SINA ( Social Innovation Academy) this week for a seminar.  We plan to send other leaders to SINA for training in running a socially minded business .  In fact, our missions team will plan to go to SINA for one or two nights in June.  They build bottle houses that they rent out to people who visit.  I am excited to stay in one of these. They are a German-run NGO and I am so far very impressed by their model.I believe I can learn a lot from them.

I already have an airline ticket.  Our trip is June 9-21.  We have 5 people that have committed to going to, Uganda and a few more considering going.   The aim of this trip is to see what we can do in the future and to celebrate the graduation of our first sewing class.  Part of this trip will be looking at a possible hairdressing school for 10 women that wait for this training.  I do not want to open a hairdressing school so I would like to see if the training can be done at the YMCA.  We may also be teaching women in a poor village to make soap.  And I am interested in building at least one rocket stove.  That is something we did not get to do on our last trip.

Sylvia is going to be attending MOPS Euroup2019, a conference in Heidelberg Germany on March 29-30.   https://www.mopseurope2019.com/ And when she is in Germany she will also be sharing about the need for clean water in Uganda.  We have a group of friends  (part of Hoffnung für Uganda e.V, ) working on getting the support for a borehole on the farm where we want to raise goats.   We have not forgotten the goats.  We just feel it wise to get a safe source of water before we invest in the goats.  This year there was a drought, and many farmers lost livestock (including Emmanuel).   So when we finally get our goats, we need water.
