If you travel a few days in Uganda you are going to notice the poverty. You would need to be blind if you did not see the needs. Everywhere you look you will see it. A need for water, good roads, housing, education, transportation, health care, and jobs. It is like a giant waterfall, powerful and overwhelming. And the force of it can wash you away. It is hard to have hope that you can change anything at all. But you can. If you start. Try not to get distracted. I do not ignore all the need. I just cannot fix everything. So I learn to say no…so that I have the resources to say yes. And I have adopted 30 women and 37 kids. And I fight for these few. And we see their world become better. And when they graduate, we can adopt more women. Over time we will make a real difference. I am so grateful for my friends who have come with me…and have played a role in this process. Giant waterfalls are made of individual drops of rain. Do not ever underestimate your ability to change the world…at least for a few. Decide…and just do it.
