Friday pray for Suubi

It is Friday and time to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS Uganda.

First, we want to thank God for some very big things that have happened.  We have a team here in Germany working on getting a well built-in
Namsaala

, a village of about 300 families.  They are drinking mud.  They have no clean water for all these people.  But the funds have been raised, the contractor has been screened and secured, and very soon they will begin work on a well.  The well will be built in a location covenant for all the women and girls to reach.  No more walking in lonely areas where they could be attacked.  And once water is secure, we can move forward with the goats at the farm.  This is a giant achievement.  Congratulations to Katrina and her team.  And a big thank you to everyone who donated and prayed for this well.  I will be posting photos in the next month and video of the progress on this well.  Water is life.
The Soap workshop also had a visit from the Community based organization's officials.  They were very impressed by how organized the group is.  And they will receive their CBO license.  There are many grants not available to NGO’s, but open to CBÖ’s.  So, God willing this will open doors to local funding.  And Suubi needs funds to move forward.  We are at a standstill without funds.  Sylvia has applied for many grants and continues to apply for other grants.  Please pray for our funding.
Sylvia also met with a very good child sponsorship program.  They were very welcoming.  But they charge for boarding school.  And this cost is nearly double what we pay for school in Kampala.  And we would need to find our own child sponsors.  So why would we ask our supporters to pay double just to be covered by this organization?  We could not do that.  So sadly, we have to say no, and keep looking for an organization that would actually help our kids.  It is disheartening.  In September I need to pay school fees for 16 kids. School fees are 100 Euros a child.   And in January that number jumps up to 26 kids.  We work with preschoolers.  There will be a never-ending group of kids needing school.  We truly need a move of God.  I am going to sadly set up another go fund me campaign for school fees.  I had hoped not to have to do this.  We will be looking for other funding.  And so, I ask you to pray for this need, both for September and long term.
Sylvia said the sewing women are not complaining.  They seem to be finding work.  They are all happy.  And that is amazing!!! Please pray they continue to find sewing jobs.   Also, Soap is very busy trying to secure contracts.  They went to a chain of hair salons that will sell their soap.  And Sylvia asked if they would be willing to train the 9 women, we have who want to learn hairdressing.  They have many shops and said they could do this.  They would charge us a reasonable fee.  And they would employ the women once they are trained.  So now I just need to find a grant that covers the cost of this vocational training.  It will cost about 18,000 USD for one year’s training for 9 women.  This cost will also give them money for food and rent as they attend school.  It is a very reasonable price.  2000 USD a woman.  And a job after the year is over.  These women have waited for over two years to get their chance at an education.  I wish I have the funds to just pay it.  But we will pray for a grant.
As always pray for the health and safety of everyone in the group.  I had to send money this week for Helen who had a serious case of malaria.  She has school exams in the next week.  It was vital she recovers quickly.  We end up losing so much money to emergencies and sickness.  Please always remember to pray for the health and safety of the women and children.   Thank you so much!!!
