Prayer for our new washable pad campaign

It is Friday already. The weeks fly by fast. It is time to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda. Last week I had many good things to report. I'm afraid there is not so much news. School fees are being paid. That, of course, is giant. The women had been fasting and praying for the funds to send their children to school. And we received the money for all 16 kids in the last minute. This is really amazing! And we are again so grateful.
Yesterday I read the story of a 12-year-old girl in Kenya killing herself because she was shamed in class for having her period. This story moved me so much, I am determined to have pads made for school girls. And I began a go fund me campaign. Our women who graduated from school will sew pads. Already we got a donation for 50 Euros. That will pay for 30 pads or kits for 5 girls. And Juliet will take that job. She was hired to teach sewing, but the school lost its funding. So she is grateful for the work. After paying for the fabric, I think she will make about 20 euros in profit. That may not seem like much to you, but it is enough for her to pay half her rent. I want you to know all the money given for this project employs a teen mother or goes for materials to make the pads. So please pray that we receive donations. It will make an immediate impact on lives.
Today is market day in Kampala. I pray they sell a lot of soap and all the bags and cloths the women have made. I also pray that they make good contacts with organizations that support women's organizations. I also pray for good weather. The rains keep people away and are a hardship for all the women in the market.
Please pray that the water well can be finished in the next week. And for the safety of the ones involved. It is a deep well and can be dangerous as it is being built.
We have inquired into partnering with Compassion International to start a school where the well is being built. We have a church that would like to host the school and a man who wants to coordinate this project. Eventually, Suubi has to move out of Kampala. All the NGO's are required to move. This is an order of the government. So it would benefit our program if we have a school in this village. Please pray for this process.
Days for girls has begun to accept applications for their enterprise program. Sylvia will be speaking with her women to see if they might want to form a Days for girls enterprise group to sew pads for school girls. And they need wisdom about if they should apply, and if they do apply grace to be accepted. More information about this program is here.
And if you are working with a group of women in a poor country, maybe you can also apply. Applications are due Oct 28th.

We have applied for many grants, but so far we have not received any. We want to start a new sewing class, and also pay to get 9 women education in hairdressing. Please pray for the funds to come in. Thank you as always to pray for our safety and health. Your prayers are so valuable. Thank you!
