Prayer requests and many reasons to thank Him

It is Friday and I am asking you to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda. First, we want to thank God for his amazing grace towards us over this past week. We received the funding for the water filters. Half the funds for these filters came from fundraisers done by our sister group MOPS Pairs. And we are so grateful for their great effort. And we also thank each individual who gave to this need. The filters arrived at both workshops. The moms have begun to pick them up. And God willing there will be no more waterborne sickness in our group from now on! We also got a discount on the filters. https://spouts.org/ We thank Spouts for their good price. Sylvia said the water is very clean and tastes wonderful.
Last Friday the women were in the front row at a big donor conference in Kampala. Two of the teenage mothers got to stand on stage and say what MOPS has done for them. And God willing this will open doors for funding to make soap and washable sanitary pads for schools and refugee camps. And maybe funding to train many more women with these skills.
We also had the Christmas party on Saturday. At the party, all our sewing women officially received their sewing machines for finishing the washable pads (over 2000 pads). So now they are all busy sewing at home. And we will hand out the pads in schools in February.
9 kids also received a sponsor for school at this party. So 20 kids officially have a sponsor. But we have 7 additional families who have applied to sponsor this week. And that means we only need 3 additional families. So please pray we get 3 more sponsors. It is fine if we get too many sponsors. We hope to begin a new sewing school and hire additional moms at the soap workshop next year. A waiting list of people waiting to sponsor a child is an awesome problem. That would be more than wonderful!
We do have needs. Rita got kicked out of her house. The landlord raised the rent and found a new renter. So we moved her and her 3 kids into the soap workshop for a while. The workshop will be closed over the Christmas vacation. But we will need to find her a new home in January. And we will need a 350 Euro deposit for a new place. So pray we get a good home for her, and funding to pay for it.
We are still without a grant to move forward in 2020. Please pray we receive the Skills Development Funds grant. This would give us what we need to train ten more teenage moms to sew, and train 150 moms to make soap as a business.
Our two workshops will be closed over the vacation. But we are giving the women additional money for food. Many rely on the food they eat at the workshop. Some have traveled to the villages for the vacation. Many are alone and have no family. Pray for them and their children. That they will have a good Christmas. As always remember to pray for health and safety.
We are very grateful for all of you and we wish you a merry Christmas.
