We need oppertunity

It is Friday and I am asking you to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS in Kampala Uganda. Last Friday we asked you to pray the lockdown would end. I had very little faith they would end it. But they did. The lockdown restrictions were lifted on Monday. They now have public transportation. Shops are open. People flooded back into Kampala to work. Covid is of course still an issue. Sylvia said people are crazy. They do not wear their masks correctly. I expect the situation to get worse. But at least people can try to earn some money for food.

Our women went down to the town to try and work. But they got turned back. There was no work to be found. We are thinking about buying bundles of used clothes. They can repair the clothes and try to sell them to earn rent. I know they can repair clothes; I am not sure they can resell them. But they need to find opportunities to earn money. They may get to sew dolls for a fair-trade store in Europe. That’s super. But it's only 10 dolls. The profit will pay rent for one woman. We need so many more opportunities to pay for rent. Please pray for massive opportunities that are local.
The women who are graduating from sewing school are going to get their own sewing machines soon. We sent the funds. The machines are ordered. And next week you will probably be getting the photos of some very happy women! We want to thank everyone who gave towards the machines. Your gift will be used and appreciated for a lifetime.
One of our moms has a tumor on her stomach. She is seeing an herbalist. I want her to go to a real doctor for a real evaluation. Sylvia says she looks pregnant, but she isn’t. Please pray for her to be willing to see a doctor. And pray for her healing. She has a 3-year-old. She needs a long and healthy life.
Sylvia sent me photos of one of our kids who wants a school sponsor. And the 2nd photo of a child not even in Suubi. The mother wants in our sewing school. We sent additional funds to help feed more people. But the food is not enough. They also beg for school fees and vocational school. Sadly, we cannot just open the door. I am sure we could easily find 1000 women that want vocational school and 10,000 kids that want school fees. It's hard for me to say no. I am sure it's even harder for the leaders in Kampala to turn people away. I have not received even one dollar for our next sewing school. Not even one dollar. We realistically need 25,000 Euros to support 10 women and 3 teachers with rent and food for 12 months. We need fabric and more sewing machines. We need rent and salary for the teachers. And we need to find sponsorship families for about 15 kids. This time we want to invest in leaders who will go back to their villages and teach teenage mothers back home. This will enable us to expand our influence. We need funding. We can reach 10 women a year. But if we teach 10 teachers, they can reach maybe 50 more. We need opportunity and investment.
Sylvia will take a week off next week. Pray she gets some rest. We are being driven by the needs. DRIVEN!!!! To a point of panic. And it is not healthy. Everyone feels like they are about to drown. And they want to grab on to anything…. try anything. But we need wisdom. God has not abandoned us. And he will provide for us. What does he want us to do? We need to stop and come to rest. We need to hear the voice of God. And we need wisdom and help.
