Hope brings life

It is Friday and I am asking you to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda.

I am reading a book by Timothy Keller called "Making sense of God ". In this book, he says people

are primarily hope-driven. Without hope, we die. But with hope, we can manage so much more than we know. He gave an example of two people who are given the same job. It's a very boring job. One is promised 30,000 USD a year the other 3 million a year. The one says to the other.. this job is so boring. How can you stand it? I am thinking about quitting. The other says...it's fine. I am content. I even sing to myself as I work each day. What is the difference between the 2 people? One has the hope of a great reward. The other does not have that hope.
Suubi actually means hope. Tomorrow they are planning to have a MOPS meeting at the center. After the meeting, the women and kids will receive the new mattresses and blankets. Sylvia tells me they are filled with joy as they look with expectation of this gift. Thank you to everyone who has donated so we can give them all new beds. They were sleeping on rags on concrete floors. And they used the mosquito net as a blanket.
They began building the new toilets at the Suubi center. We had to spend the funds to satisfy the government health department. But soon they will have new toilets. This is another big infrastructure need to be met. Next, we have to build a water well. That's going to cost 8000 euros. If you wish to donate to the well you can find ways to give on our website.
Two of the kids have the mumps. Both have been vaccinated. But I guess the vaccination only lessens the sickness. It doesn't 100% prevent it. Please pray for total healing and no spread of this sickness.
The green shade house is again torn from strong winds. They want too much money to repair it. I think they should cover it with plants. Pray they get the wisdom to fix it. I can not afford what's being charged. Next month we have to pay rent for the women at the center. It's 6 million shillings total for 6 months. That's 1500 Euro/ 1600 USD total cost for all 10 women (students at the center) and their children for 6 months. If you wish to donate towards their rent again look at our website. Eventually, we want to build student housing. We are just not there yet.
Our kids started again with school and tutoring this past week. We pray for help getting all of them back in school by next fall. We have ideas now about how to finance this need. We just need wisdom and provision. Pray for the kids to all return soon to school. For now they are all being tutored 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. It's the best we can do with the funds we have. School fees have doubled in the past 2 years.
Pray the women of Lilly Avenue stores can sell more. They need funds to pay the store rent.
