Day 11

Truth-What do you feel most grateful for?  Make a list.
Dare- Get up early & watch the sunrise uninterrupted.

What am I grateful for-

Our wedding Oct 6, 1990
Juergen (the top of my list).  We have been happily married for nearly 27 years.  And at least for me,  all those years were wonderful with him.  Even when some of those years were hard, they were not hard because of him.  He was always wonderful. He brings me coffee every morning. He supports my crazy ideas. He loves me and likes me. And he is such a great dad. Even to teenagers. I could write a few pages. It would not be hard for me.

April 9, 2007 in Nanjing China
My kids, this week we are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Sarah's adoption. But all my children are wonderful. family,  friends, church, my MOPS leadership team and my MOPS group,  my dog, my chickens, my house, car, and food.  I could go on and on.  My health.  My freedom.
Mostly my relationship with God.
My sleep...so I do not plan to watch the sun rise.

The midwife, the teen mom and Sylvia
Today I'm holding my breath and waiting for news from Uganda. A young women in the teen MOPS group we are sponsoring goes to the hospital. It looks like she has to have a C-section. Her baby is breech. And I'm so sad and worried. But I'm so grateful for Sylvia and the other leaders in the group. I'm grateful for the midwives that volunteered to help this young woman. She ha no money. Not even money for food. And without a C-section, she and her baby will probably die. And I found out that Uganda has a population the size of Canada. Canada loses around 50 women a year in childbirth. Uganda loses over 6000 women a year. It is frightening. I could hardly sleep. But this morning I remembered these words. "never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God" Corrie Ten Boome.
