Dare- Plan an actual slumber party with your besties!
Maybe the slumber party would be fun, but I have too many things to do. I do not feel like crowding the calendar with yet one more thing. I do new things all the time. The first thing that comes to mind is my trip to Albania. My daughter Nicole, my friend Anita and I went to a MOPS conference in Albania in March. When I was a teenager my youth group would pray for Albania. It was the "most" closed country in the world. Similar to North Korea today. And it was so amazing to be allowed to go to a Christian conference, and pray openly in that country.
I came with a hungry heart. I've experienced so much pain and anger in the past two years (the conflict my church has gone through). The invitation to this conference was an invitation to grace and love. I was so open to this. And I felt so humbled by the way we were received. It was almost more than we could take. They treated us with honor far greater than we felt we deserved. I'll never forget their hospitality!
I rented a car there. People said you should not drive there. But I did it! I was pretty proud! Parking there was especially risky. The parking underground was like nothing I've ever seen. It was so steep, it felt the car would tip over. Scary! But I did it!
And we stayed in a local apartment I found online. It was nearly impossible to find. The buildings do not have real addresses. Someone had to help us find the place. But it was great to be in a real Albanian house. I could go on and on. But Albania was a first for me.
