I brought my dinosaur that eats force field dogs

There is a scene in the movie Toy Story where Andy is playing with his toys. And at one point he says “I brought my attack dog”. And his slinky dog surrounds the other toys…trapping them. But then the next words are “I brought my dinosaur that eats force field dogs”. Over the past month, I could feel the weight of discouragement our women have felt. I was never sure just why they felt so defeated. It happens from time to time. They work so hard. And they have worked hard in the soap workshop. They have made beautiful soap. It has been their hope to sell the soap to hotels. And with the profits, they can support the other projects of Suubi Teen MOPS. I was here in Germany feeling their discouragement. And I would try to encourage them. Contracts do not grow on trees. These things take time. But what I did not realize was our women were being sexually harassed at every hotel. Hotel managers were blatantly offering contracts to buy soap in exch

A German NGO and the soap is in the mail

It has been a very busy week. I made 1200 bars of soap, and shipped the soap to 4 different groups in America. They will receive the soap in about 3 weeks. And when it is sold, the profits are going to support the group in Kampala. I want to thank Dianna, Jolie, Amanda, and Chelsea for agreeing to sell soap for us. We are so grateful for your help!!! You just agree to sell it, and send the money you earn to teen MOPS in Uganda for their food and educational expenses. Email us at teenmopskampala@t-online.de Yesterday I got together with some friends to start an NGO. The goal is to raise money for Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda. To support the education and care of teenage moms and their immediate families. The paper work will be filed this week. If it all goes well, you will be able to donate to our NGO, and receive a tax credit.

Baby Ruth

(I am writing this with Sylvia's permission) Adoption is a beautiful thing, but it always begins with a loss. Last week Sylvia’s sister died of HIV. She was a single mother. The grandmother wanted to keep the orphaned 2-year-old girl named Ruth. But the village council stepped in and said that grandmother was not able to care for Ruth. So Sylvia and her husband Emmanuel will be able to adopt her. Sylvia and Emmanuel both have an education, but they do not get paid well. This is going to be a giant leap of faith for them. They got married at Christmas. They are expecting a baby in early fall. But Ruth had no future in the village. They need to hire a nanny so Sylvia can keep her job and health insurance. Ruth will be connected to compassion ministries program. God willing, she will receive an education even to University. In Uganda, the rate of HIV infection remains high.
