A look at things to come (a missions trip is being planned)

They moved into the workshop on Wednesday.  And they are busy getting settled.  On Thursday Sylvia ended up meeting the NGO people.  They like what they see.  The process is not settled.  They want to begin by licensing the soap.  But to do this we must buy additional safety equipment for the workers.  They(the government)  also demand a monthly salary and breakfast and lunch for the workers.  I am actually glad they want the workers treated in a fair and honest way.  My only concern is the money.  We need to sell soap to pay for the workshop.  We need a license to sell soap.  But until we sell soap, we need some capital to start.  And we are already stretched supporting the sewing workshop.  We need to find funds for the salary of our two soap makers.  God willing this is a short-term need.  Hopefully, we will find a way to sell the soap.  But in the short term, we need some investment capital.

I hope to travel to Uganda August 25-September 8.  On this trip, I want to bring a mission team to help to build pallet furniture, teach skills like basic first aid, put in rain barrels, and maybe build mud stoves. If you are interested in traveling to Uganda with us, please contact me at teenmopskampala@t-online.de
The price from Germany (including airfare, food, and lodging) will be about 1200 Euro.  You will need vaccinations and a visa.  The in-country costs for two weeks are about 700 euro.  And you can figure out the air costs from where ever you are coming.   We only have space for 10 people total.  At the moment I think 5 people plan to go.  So we can have 5 more people.  You need to be a flexible person willing to get your hands dirty.  You also need to be a compassionate person ready to encourage and bless our teen moms.  Skills using hand tools is a big plus.  This is not a sightseeing trip but we will take 3 days to visit one of Uganda's animal parks.  We want to honor the local culture by seeing the best Uganda has to offer.  Its safari parks are supposed to be the best in the world.  We planned a 3-day safari in the cost and schedule. The teen MOPS group is located in one of the worst areas of Kampala.  You need to be able to emotionally handle the difficult situation.  We are going to help improve the situation.  You need to be willing to serve with a good heart.
