Friday prayer

It is Friday and I am asking you to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda. It has been a week of extremes. On Monday the UN (the United Nations) called  Sylvia and asked if they could film at the works shops. If you follow me, you know Sylvia met the head of the UN women's ministry this summer when she took a tour of the craft market. She asked us to give them a group profile. That is a Non-Governmental Organizations resume. And we wrote one and it was delivered to the UN offices in September. And Juergen told me that the UN sent a woman to scout the soap workshop when he was there. So on Tuesday leaders from Suubi went to the UN headquarters in Kampala to be interviewed. Today the film crew is in both the soap workshop and the sewing workshop to see

them make soap and washable sanitary pads. And of course, our hope is to receive a grant to do both. But we lack the funding. I feel like I am dropping names...yes talked with the UN ambassador this week. It is seriously sir real. Please pray for grace. We really do want to have our women earn a good wage helpping other women. Nothing would make me happier. But I do not want to get my hopes too high. We need Gods wisdom and direction. And they are filming in the workshops but have made us no offers of funding.
Having is often a big risk in Uganda. Late on Monday night organized robbers were traveling with trucks to steal cows and goats from farms in the area of Goat City. Emmanuel locked his cows into the goat house, It was really scary. The police came. They chased the robbers in the dark. They shot at them and even killed one man. Emmanuel had told us people steal animals this time of the year. It is a huge sacrifice for him to keep our goats. It means he can not even come home to see his wife and kids, And right now Uganda is experiencing extreme flooding. The farm is flooded. The goats are sick from the cold. So please pray for the protection of our people.
And the floods also hurt the women in Kampala. This is Sylvia's mom's house. She is recovering from bronchitis. Sylvia also had to take antibiotics for bronchitis. It is always wet. And for some, like Teddy water just runs like a river through her house. They can not sleep. It is miserable. And mosquitos breed in the standing water. Uganda is on the equator. It is always hot. And it has the highest rate of malaria in the world. We do not want a drought. But it would be nice if this extream rain would end.
We still need 15 sponsors for our children's school fees. The Christmas party is on December 21...or around that date. It could change because they have to adjust to the hosting church's schedule. I want all of our kids to have a sponsor for Christmas. Please pray for this to happen.
