over come evil with good

It's Friday and I am asking you to pray for Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda. This week has been extremely difficult. Over the weekend we focused on the project for awesome contest but also watched Russian troops begin to devastate Ukraine. What was great about watching project for awesome videos is the number of people who actually care about others. You can watch our video on youtube - Here. Hundreds of organizations joined this contest. And so many do good work. I guess if you feel like the world is all going to hell, you only needed to see thousands of people fight to help make things better in very hard situations. We feed hungry people, bind their wounds, and help carry their needs. We will not know how Suubi did in the competition for about a month. I think we did well. If you voted for us we are so grateful. It was an honor to be in the many that have not given up on the world. And even if we can not change the entire world, we are helping some. I read a quote by Helen Keller this week. "I am just one. I can not do everything. Yet I will not fail to do what I can do" (something like that). Our response to the darkness in Ukraine should be light. Send money to UNICEF to support the wave of refugees leaving the country. But do not forget the homeless in your own city. Do not forget our women and children at Suubi who need support. We can not fix it all. But do something. Overcome evil with good. The world is angry and in shock. But I hope we see a wave of compassion because this world is in need. My sister also wrote something about working hard in her garden. Enjoy the freedom you now have. Be grateful for the opportunity you now have. Do not let fear keep you from investing. They finally got water delivered to the Suubi center this week. We hoped it would rain and the tank could be filled with rainwater. It poured in Kampala. But there was nothing at the center. The rain in Kampala causes its own brand of misery. Malaria is on the rise. One of our Suubi kids had to have intravenous antibiotics to treat Malaria. Pray for Abdul. We also have a lot of women and children sick with Covid Omicron. Nantongo Sylvia said everyone at the center is sick. Please pray that they all recover quickly and completely. Teddy is scheduled to have her surgery next week. We need about 1,000 USD to cover her expenses. We are trusting God to meet all of the medical needs. The goat farm finally got a new male breeding goat. It's not good for goats to interbreed. This weakens the herd. But we have had trouble finding a new male goat. Now we have a giant male. He will father a new generation. This is an answer to prayer. Money has also been sent to fix the goat house that fell in a storm. They will be replacing the wooden feet with concrete feet. Hopefully, the house will stand for many years. The containers we purchased are due to arrive at the center today. Pray they arrive safely. We need to move all the concrete and boxes out of the kitchen and dining room so it can be finished. We want to have at least one finished building before the rains begin at the end of the month. We need 10 more permanent child sponsorship families. This term we had a generous donation to cover school fees for the 10 unsponsored kids. But next term that begins in April we need permanent sponsorship families. Please pray for people to sign up to sponsor the education of one of our waiting kids. It would be so hard to have them stay home after they began to go to school. You can read about sponsorship on our website. Thank you.
